English 2A

Welcome!  

 

The objective of this course is to help ensure that students are college and career ready in literacy. The curriculum is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and will include topics covered in their World History course. Students will read a variety of literary and informational text. There will also be major writing units from the Expository Reading and Writing Course developed by the California State University system. In addition to the emphasis on close reading and academic writing, students will address skills within listening and speaking, language, and research. Grammar and vocabulary will be assigned throughout the year, along with larger projects.
