Mrs. Fanjul's English IIIA Classes
Course Description
The objective of this course is to help ensure that students are college and career ready in literacy. The curriculum is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and will include topics covered in past and current U.S. History courses. Students will read a variety of literary and informational text. In addition to the emphasis on close reading and academic writing, students will address skills within listening and speaking, language, and research. Grammar and vocabulary will be assigned throughout the year, along with larger projects. The work will be intense at times, but I know you can do it! I have high expectations for you in this class, so it is important for you to accept that it is your responsibility that you come to class prepared and to get your work done on time. Please communicate with me if you have any questions or if you need extra help. Your success is important! Parents, I intend to make this a challenging, yet enjoyable and successful year for your student. Please remember that I am here to support them in any way that I can. If you need or would like to contact me, please feel free in any form, but my email response time is by far the fastest.
