Escalon High School Daily Bulletin

Winter formal is January 20, 2024, 8-11 pm.  Tickets are limited. We will sell out. EHS Student and Guest (for non-EHS guests) contract forms are available now.  You can find them in the hallway near the school office. Starting ticket prices will be $55 each through January 3, and will increase to $65 through January 17.  DUE DATES: Guest forms are due January 10 by 3:30.  Last day to buy all tickets is January 17 at 3:10 pm.

Next week is Holiday Spirit Week: in preparation for finals, ASB will host school dress up days and activities.  Dress up days will be winter accessory day, flannel day, tacky sweater and fuzzy sock day, PJ day, and Holiday Character day.  Check the posters in the hallway and the instagram page for reminders and updates.

 

Cougars Give Back: ASB is now collecting donations for the Modesto Gospel Mission, until Friday, December 15th. If you’d like to donate toiletries, adult sized t-shirts, socks, or gloves, you can drop them off in front of Rm 7. Check the Instagram page for a full list of requested items to donate. Thank you! 

 

GSA:  The final meeting for this semester will be Thursday, Dec. 7 at lunch in Room 15. Anyone who wants to volunteer at the Astro Animal Shelter must turn in their permission slip to Ms. Harrington before finals, so plan to bring it to the meeting.

ASL Club will meet today and next week Tuesday at lunch in Room 3 for some more activities learning Sign Language and celebrating before break.

STUDENT DRIVERS- You must display a parking permit whether you park on or off campus. Please pick up your permit application outside of the front office.  If you do not have a parking permit displayed, Ricardo will tag your vehicle with a reminder; after that, disciplinary action will follow.

Attention FFA Members - Our next FFA meeting will be on the 6th at 6pm in the cafeteria. Be sure to dress in your ugliest Christmas sweater and come prepared to decorate a Christmas cookie. Toys for Tots drive ends on the 15th, bring in a toy valued at $20 or more and earn an FFA point and an hour of community service. Sophomores interested in competing in impromptu speaking we will be having practice Thursday at lunch in room 37.   

Freshman FFA Members, there will be a creed meeting today at lunch in Ms. Johnsons’ room.  

“For a better world, what would YOU do?”...is the topic.  The Escalon Lions Club Speech Contest is open to only 5 more students.  The contest date is tentatively scheduled for the evening of Thursday, February 1.  Participants can bring up to 2 guests.  All participants will get a prize check ($100 for 1st place and $25 for all other participants) Dinner is typically provided after the contest by the Escalon Lions.  If you are interested, please see Karen Nunes in the ASB office to sign up or get more information.

There will be a Portuguese Club meeting in Room 5 on Tuesday, December 5th. All are welcome to attend and share some holiday traditions from your culture. Hope to see you there!

Friends Helping Friends Club: We will be having a meeting this Wednesday, December 6 at lunch in Room 24 to discuss our Holiday Dance. This dance will host over 150 students with special needs, and we need volunteers. Our volunteers will help set-up, make decorations, interact with students, dance, and help serve lunch. If you are interested in being a volunteer, make sure you are at the meeting.
