Escalon High School Daily Bulletin

Escalon Sunrise Rotary Speech Contest is open for a few students!  The speech contest will be done over Zoom on January 27 at 8 pm.  Prizes are $125 (1st place), $100 (2nd place), and $75 (third place), and the first-place winner will be eligible to compete for more cash prizes!  Last year an Escalon High School student won the district contest and a total of $1300!  Sign up or learn more from Karen in the ASB office.

FUNDRAISER!  You can help raise money for ASB or the Yearbook Club... Mountain Mike’s Coupon Books are $20 for coupons valued at over $250.  Includes a FREE one-topping medium pizza and 8 BOGO FREE large pizza coupons and lots more! Enjoy these coupons for over one year!  The expiration date is December 31, 2022.   Coupon books are available now.  You get one when you pay for it. Books are available until we leave for winter break (mid-December).

Big game on Friday! Vacation starts...Cougar Football...But, don’t forget! From 3:30 - 6:00 PM, ACADEC is hosting a Tournament Challenge and Open Mic Event taking place on campus in the Ag Quad and behind the Fire Sciences Building. But, the Open Mic Event needs participants! This includes people who sing, play the guitar, play the keyboards, play the harp, play the triangle, cowbell, or any combination of the aforementioned. We are looking for 20 brave souls to entertain the masses! This might be your shot. If you have any interest at all, please visit the table outside of the ASB office at lunch this week. Entry into the Open Mic is included with the presale price of $7. Presale tickets are available this week at lunch. Come on by for more information and to buy your tickets.


It’s Kindness Week! Today is pajama day; tomorrow is hat day, then Tie-Dye Wednesday, Neon and Sunglasses on Thursday, and Spirit Day Friday.  Wednesday will be games and bracelet making at lunch in the quad. See you there!

Don’t forget to pick up your Class Shirts.  Many were ordered and not picked up yet.  Visit the ASB office to make your $17 cash payment and pick up your class shirts.  Reminder emails were sent to your school email on October 26 and have been or will be sent again in November if you ordered a shirt and haven’t picked it up yet.  

Class of 2023 - We have three size medium shirts available for $17.00.  If you didn’t pre-order one and would like to get one, please come by the ASB office.

Blood Drive- Guess what? If you donate, you will receive a $10 Amazon gift card. We need 12 more donors for Wednesday! If you are 17 or 18 and interested in helping save people’s lives by donating blood, please see Mr. Bower in Room 34 Today!.

Have you purchased your 2021-22 yearbook yet? The current price of $85 will be increased to $90 at 8 am on November 29.  They are available to purchase at the online store.

Students- Just a reminder…. the library opens at 7 am daily and closes at 3:30 pm.  You are welcome to come and study, print assignments, check out a book, or just hang out.

Job Opportunity: The City of Escalon Recreation Department is looking for Flag Football referees. The season is October 16th – December 2nd; games are played on Saturdays. If interested in applying, you may pick up an application at city hall. Questions call Bridget at 691-7372.

FFA Announcement: MFE/ALA meeting at lunch today in room 37. GThis is for any sophomore or junior who is interested in attending leadership conferences.

MJC’s 6th Annual Senior Athlete Day will take place Tuesday, November 30th, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Zoom

Do you have senior athletes interested in playing at the collegiate level? If so, we welcome the athlete to attend Senior Athlete Day at Modesto Junior College virtually. Students who attend will be granted to register before most students (level 2 priority) if selected for a team sport.

Honor your Senior with a Senior Dedication Ad in the yearbook! They are available now and better than ever!  YOU design the entire dedication online.  Go to Yearbook Order Center to purchase and create your custom design.  When prompted, enter 7631 for Escalon High School’s order ID number. To ensure your ad is in the yearbook, purchase and create it no later than December 14.  Space will be limited after that date.  Prices range from $60-$300 for these memorable full-color dedications. 

Jostens has rescheduled their visit to tomorrow during lunch.  They will be available to size seniors with class rings and letter jackets.

Sports

Wrestling practice will be held at 2:15 Today through Thursday this week due to minimum day schedules.  

Friday’s home football game against Ripon starts at 7 pm.  Gate opening time TBD.  Only digital tickets will be accepted for admission.  SCREENSHOTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  The digital tickets can be purchased through https://gofan.co/app/events/449639?schoolId=CA22540. DO NOT click redeem on your tickets before you get to the gate.  ASB, Family, and TVL passes will not grant free admission.

Congratulations to Cross Country’s great run at sections. Freshman Boys took 2nd place and were led by Daniel Bagadiong and Nate Millard and Frosh/Soph Girls earned 4th as a team led by Victoria Rich and Hannah Wampler. Katherine Romero earned 25th overall in the varsity race, and there were countless other big personal records and season bests. Overall, the 18 runners took off over 25minutes from their previous time on the course this season. Great job, it has been a fantastic season!
