Mrs. Gentry's Classroom
Personal: I met my husband while attending college. During our 35 years of marriage, we have lived in various cities, but have made Escalon our home for over 25 years. My husband, as well as my son and daughter, graduated from Escalon High School. Lucky for me, both my children and their amazing spouses live in Escalon, which means I get to see my four grandchildren often!! My daughter and her husband have a three year old daughter, and a 16 month old son. My son and his wife have14 month old twins: one boy and one girl!
Education: I graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in Plant Science, and an option in Landscape Horticulture. I also have a Administrative Credential from CSU, Stanislaus, but have no plans to use it in the future, as I love teaching!
Work Experience: Prior to teaching, I worked in the wholesale and retail plant industry for over 20 years. I thoroughly enjoyed my previous profession, but when we moved to Escalon, commuting took too much time away from my family. I began to substitute teach in the Escalon Unified School district, but it was not until I completed a long term sub position teaching science at the high school that I realized my passion for teaching! I currently teach Biology, AP Biology, and Peer Interaction Team (PIT) and love every minute!
