The Escalon Educational Foundation Scholarship is now open!  It’s posted in Naviance and on the boards outside of the ASB office and counseling office.  This scholarship is academically based and requires an essay: The Essay Topic is; “Describe how your education within Escalon Unified School District and growing up within the Escalon community has formed who you are and your plans for your future”.  Please consider sharing your story by applying for this scholarship.  Don’t wait to apply and let time slip by…these scholarships are a very important part of your educational future.

Seniors today on Homecoming, it seemed fitting to remind you of the Jamie LaRossa Memorial Scholarship.  Requirements are a 3.2 GPA, Letter in 2 sports each year, planning on a Business related degree, 2 References (1 teacher, 1 community) A short essay describing applicant’s passions in sports, career, family, and community. Check out this scholarship in Naviance or on the boards in the ASB or counseling areas.  See Mrs. Nunes or Mrs. P if you have any questions.

Grade 12 if you volunteer and want to learn more about the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards and scholarship, go to Naviance to learn more or see the posting on the scholarship bulletin near the ASB office or in the EHS Counseling Center.  This is due by November 6, so be sure to look into this right away!

Students interested in learning more about Paul Mitchell cosmetology school please come sign up in the Counseling Center. A representative from Paul Mitchell will be on campus October 23 at lunch in the counseling center!

TONIGHT IS FAFSA NIGHT !!  EHS will be having our annual FAFSA Workshop today, 3:15 pm-6:30 pm in the EHS Library. Please bring at least one parent, 2017 tax information, all records of income, driver’s license, social security number, or alien registration number.  

Seniors!!! Would you like to receive a free 4-year college education in exchange for a 5-year military commitment? Plan to attend Service Academy Night at Ronald McNair H.S. October 18, 2018, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Come to the counseling center for more information.

Seniors- A rep from the University of Nevada Reno will be on campus October 18 @ lunch. If you are interested please come by the counseling center to sign up!!

Film Club – There is a Film Club meeting this Friday, October 12th, during lunch, in room 12.

All 1st-period Teachers and classes: In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month the FFA Community Service Committee has made breast cancer awareness bows for all students and roses for the teachers and staff.  We ask that you pass these out to your first-period class and wear them for the month of October.

REMINDER- All drivers must display a parking permit whether you park on or off campus. Please pick up your permit application outside of the front office.

Seniors!-Reminder that your senior portrait must be picked no later than November 18th. Yearbook will be sending out senior quote forms within the next few weeks. They will be due December 7th, we will be having a strict one submission rule this year. Make it appropriate.

Attention all students that plan on playing a winter sport.  Make sure that you have your physical completed and ready to give to your coach by the first day of conditioning/practice.

Attention all boys interested in playing basketball this upcoming season.  If you missed the meeting, please see Mr. Bartelink in Room 27 before or after school or at Vista during your lunch.

Attention all boys and girls interested in playing basketball this upcoming season and not doing a fall sport.  Mandatory conditioning will be Tuesday through Thursday, at 6:15 pm in the new gym. Please bring your physical.

EHS Juniors: The Escalon Sunrise Rotary is seeking applicants for the 2019 RYLA leadership camp. This camp brings together over 200 students from the Central Valley who are already leaders in their schools. The camp run from February 15-18. Applications are available in the main office and from Ms. Baldwin in room 30. Applications are due by October 23rd. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Baldwin or ask last year’s participants: Brandon Karp, Madisyn Widmer and Melea Maglalang.

EHS Freshman Football Players: Please come by room 20 Wednesday or Thursday to get your breakfast ticket.

Varsity Football Players: Don’t forget to go by the Community Center’s covered picnic bench area right after the Homecoming Parade for a team meal.
