PSAT TEST- Sophomores and Freshmen tests will be on sale Monday January 14, 2019 in the counseling center. SOPHOMORE test date is Tuesday Feb. 26, 2019 and the cost is $16 FRESHMAN test date is Thursday Feb. 28, 2019 and the cost is $11.

The Lions Club speaking contest is February 7. There are only 2 spots available. The last day to sign up is January 30 (or until all spots are full).

Attention FFA Members: There will be a mandatory State Conference meeting on Friday 1/18/19 at lunch in room 36.
We have FIVE scholarship due this week on January 17. They are: Harry and Dorothy Tilbury Scholarship (ag or auto vocational scholarship, for students enrolling in a vocational school or junior college), John Hawkins Memorial Scholarship (ag or vocational students should apply), AARP Scholarship and the Ruth Baymiller Memorial Scholarship (students with a financial need should apply to both of these), and Warren and Mary Hall Endowment Scholarship (students planning to attend school with a vocational or technical emphasis and who have a financial need should apply). Please don’t let these opportunities slip by. Make time to apply by January 17 before school or during lunch. You’ll be glad you did.

Speech Contest: The Escalon Sunrise Rotary will be holding its annual speech contest on Thursday, January 31st in the EHS cafeteria at 7 am. This year’s topic is “Be the Inspiration” and the length of each speech should be 5 minutes. Cash prizes are $75, $100 and $125 and they will be awarded to the top students. Any interested student can pick up more info from Mrs. Baldwin in room 30.
Debate Club: The next Debate Club meeting is January 22 at lunch in Rm 15. Our club photo will be taken for the yearbook that day.
