Kaiser summer 2019 program is scheduled to take place between Monday, June 10 and Friday, August 9 over a course of eight weeks. If you are interested and qualified for this program, please apply online at our website (https://kplaunch.kaiserpermanente.org) between Monday, December 17, 2019, at 9 a.m. and Monday, January 14, 2019, by 9 a.m. PST.

Applicant Criteria:

 

  • Must be between the ages of 16 and 19 by June 1, 2019
  • Must be enrolled in high school; general education degree (GED) program with no previous college experience since graduating from high school
  • Must have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
  • Must have an interest in working in a healthcare environment
  • Must be able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the eight-week program
  • Must undergo and pass all Kaiser Permanente employment requirements to include: providing proof of the legal right to work in the United States; a background check (if ages 18 or over); and a drug and health screening

 

 

12th graders attention!  If you missed EHS Financial Aid Night and you need help filling out and submitting your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Calif. Dream Act Application (CADAA), MJC is available to help Mon-Fri from 8am-6pm.  Locations at both campuses: East Campus, Student Services Building West Campus, Yosemite Hall

Are you a good public speaker or would you like to give it a try?  Lions Club Speaking Contest is February 7, 2019. The subject is “Freedom of the Press…what does it mean?” Come to the ASB office to sign up to participate.  Only 4 spots are currently available, so sign up ASAP.  All participants will get a small cash reward. The winner will get $100 and advance to the next level of the contest (usually in Ripon).  This is open to all students (grades 9-12). The first round of the contest is in Escalon in the evening. Dinner will be provided to winners and two of their guests at a local restaurant (usually D’bonis).

Now is the time to work on scholarship applications and begin turning them in.  We have 5 due on January 17.  If you are delaying working on them, you will miss out on the chance to turn in the best version of your application.

SENIORS! If you paid for Grad Bash, but have not turned in your pink permission slip to room 13, your spot has NOT been reserved. Bring your permission slip to Mrs. Villines ASAP.

Film Club – Come join the Film Club this Thursday at 4 pm at the Escalon Public Library for our December Movie Night! Entrance is free! We will be watching the holiday classic “ELF”. We hope to see you there!

CSF members: we have the opportunity to write replies to some Dear Santa letters sent by kids in town. If you are interested come to Room 34 at lunch on Monday.

Attention FFA Students! Interested in showing a pig for the San Joaquin County Fair? The mandatory meeting has been moved to Rm 38 on Thursday, December 20th at 1:10 PM. This meeting is MANDATORY if you plan on showing a pig with Escalon FFA.

Speech Contest: The Escalon Sunrise Rotary will be holding its annual speech contest on Thursday, January 31st in the EHS cafeteria at 7 am. This year’s topic is “Be the Inspiration” and the length of each speech should be 5 minutes. Cash prizes are $75, $100 and $125 and they will be awarded to the top students. Any interested student can pick up more info from Mrs. Baldwin in room 30.

  • These are regular days for the district, and buses run at the regular time.
  • Remind Students they are not allowed at any other site after school.
  • Any student taking the bus must catch it here, they are not allowed to board at El Portal or any other site.
  • The library will be open for them to study for their finals.
