Seniors! FAFSA is due March 2nd. If you have not completed your FAFSA, please do so ASAP. Please do not forget to create your Web Grants 4 students account to follow up on your Cal Grant Status.  Also, don’t forget to setup your college email and student portals of the colleges you will be attending to follow up on your admission status.

FCA – There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Pizza Lunch meeting on Friday in room 10. We will be featuring a guest speaker. You do not have to be an athlete to attend – everyone is welcome. Join us for lunch on Friday.

Animal Shelter Collection:  In each of your 4th period classrooms you will find a collection jar.  The FFA officer team is raising money to donate to our local Escalon Animal Shelter.  The collection will end during FFA week on 2/14/18.  The 4th period class that raises the most money will win a pizza party courtesy of the FFA chapter!

This is Week is our 2nd Kindness Week! Today we will be passing purple smiley face stickers out and students will vote in their English classes for our kindest Cougars on campus to be honored Friday at our Fun Friday Lunchtime Activity! Remember Cougars No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.

Calling all Cougars! Are you ready to dodge, duck and dive? We are having our first EHS staff and Student dodgeball tournament in March! We have room for 16 teams of 8. Get your club, team mates, friends together and form a team to compete for your chance at trophies and bragging rights!. Come see Mrs Canfield in Room 13 for more details!!

Attention all students – The new Escalon Percussion Ensemble is looking for members. You do not need to be a drummer to join and there is no experience necessary. We have changed rehearsals to Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm. Please come by Room 16 and see Ms. Crow or Ms. Steffanic to sign up.

Cougars-Are you interested in politics, history, communication and leadership? This opportunity could be for you!  The Congressional Leadership Fund in Modesto is looking for high school students to intern this spring. If accepted you will get first hand experience with local congressional leaders. Deadline is Feb.15th please come by the Counseling Center for more information.

The Friends Helping Friends Club will have a Valentine Party during lunch today in room 24. Please wear your club shirts since we will have club photos taken for the yearbook.

SPORTS – Week at a Glance                        

Congratulations to the Junior Varsity Soccer team for winning league by beating Hilmar 5-1 yesterday.  That makes it a clean sweep with league championships at the junior varsity and varsity levels.  Great job guys.

Congratulations EHS Wrestling:

J.V. undefeated TVL Champions 5-0. Individual champions were Garrett Nash, Izaac Sipma, and Donnie Smith.

Varsity team: Went 5-0 in Duals 1st in TVL. Placed 1st in individual. Escalon had 296 points, Hilmar had 173 ½ points, while Ripon had 165 points. The individual champions were Alex Jimenez, Rhys Panero, Brad Haggland, David Ryan, Jake Lawrence, Stephen Mendez, and Zac Freeseha. Jake Lawrence got TVL Outstanding Upper Weight, while Coach Scott got TVL Coach of the Year.
