Martin Louro

I was born in Turlock CA and grew up in the rural farming community of Hilmar.  I was raised on a family dairy farm and attended Hilmar Unified School District for my K-12 education, graduating in 1988.  Upon completion of high school I attended college at UC Davis, Stanislaus State, and San Diego State.  After receiving my BA from San Diego in 1995, I returned to the Central Valley and entered the credential program at Stanislaus State.  I received my teaching credential in January of 1997, and was hired by Livingston High School where I had done my student teaching that spring for the 97-98 school year.    While student teaching at Livingston I was asked to coach baseball which kicked off a 23 year coaching career.  I spent three years in Livingston before transferring to Atwater, and Buhach Colony High Schools spending three years at each school.  In 2006 I was hired by Escalon High School as both a Social Studies teacher and the Boys Varsity Basketball coach, and served in that capacity until 2018.  I have been married to my wife Christine since 1993 and we have one son named Dominic.
