Pre AP English II Advanced 2017-2018 All YearAlexa MacGregor
The objective of this course is to help ensure that students are college and career ready in literacy. The curriculum is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and will include topics covered in their World History course. Students will read a variety of literary and informational text. There will also be two major writing units from the Expository Reading and Writing Course developed by the California State University system. In addition to the emphasis on close reading and academic writing, students will address skills within listening and speaking, language, and research. Grammar and vocabulary will be assigned throughout the year, along with larger projects. The work will be intense at times, but I know you can do it! I have high expectations for you in this class, so it is important for you to accept that it is your responsibility that you come to class prepared and to get your work done on time. Please communicate with me if you have any questions or if you need extra help. Your success is important!
If you need or would like to contact me, please feel free in any form, but my email response time is by far the fastest.
