Dear Students, Parents, and Friends of Escalon High School,
It is hard to believe, but the 2017/2018 school year is upon us! I am excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to building on last year’s successes. Our dedicated and passionate faculty, supportive parents and creative, energetic students make Escalon High School a very special place. It also makes starting a new school year very enjoyable. Although I hope you have had a fantastic summer and are enjoying the last few days, I trust that you are preparing for the upcoming school year.
The EHS campus has experienced many phases of modernization over the last few years. Currently the New Gym and Band Room modernization projects are in full swing. Reports indicate that the project is going well and is scheduled for completion in October. The boys and girls locker rooms will be available for student use at the end of July allowing for uninterrupted PE classes. The EHS administration office is also undergoing modernization. District funds were available to upgrade office work stations, apply new paint, replace/repair damaged flooring, doors, windows, etc. Solar panel installation is underway while landscaping upgrades are taking shape and looking great.
Each year introduces new challenges and opportunities that impact our working environment. This includes a few additions to our staff. Though not new to EHS, Angela Miranda has accepted a new position at the high school. She will transition from being the receptionist and serve as the new attendance clerk. We are also delighted to welcome new guidance counselor Gustavo Jimenez-Fregoso. He brings an exceptional skill set, experience, and a gentle, sensitive approach to meeting student’s academic and emotional needs. Alongside him, new guidance counselor secretary, Audra Pires will be serving students and supporting the counseling center staff.
Isabella Leventini is our new Ag teacher and will be teaching Ag Science courses. She comes from a strong agriculture background and will be an excellent addition to our Ag Department. EHS will also have an additional music teacher. Katherine Steffanic will be teaching music at each EUSD school site and will finish her instructional day teaching guitar and choir at EHS.
